Li Rusheng, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, stated at the press conference that the pace of "going global" in the construction industry has also accelerated in the past decade. International competitiveness has significantly increased, with foreign engineering contracting covering more than 190 countries and regions worldwide. Since 2013, the overall turnover and newly signed contract amount of foreign contracted projects have maintained a sustained growth trend. In 2021, 79 companies were selected for the world's top 250 international contractors list, and their number and business proportion have been consistently ranked first in the world since 2014. Next, we will further deepen the reform of the construction industry, adhere to innovation driven and technology led approaches, promote the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of the construction industry, continue to build the "China Construction" brand, and make greater contributions to the sustained and healthy development of the economy and society.
